Port St. Lucie, Fla- Jesse Panuccio, Executive Director of the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for the State of Florida is scheduled to speak at the Treasure Coast Business Summit, May 15. This is the 7th year of the TCBS and the theme is the BUSINESS of Healthcare.
Panuccio joined the DEO as Executive Director on January 8, 2013. DEO is the state agency charged with coordinating and managing statewide economic, labor force, and community development. As executive director, Panuccio oversees the department’s 1,600 employees and $1 billion budget. Under his guidance, DEO has implemented a variety of agency-wide initiatives to strengthen the ties between economic, community, and workforce programs, while also streamlining agency operations and increasing transparency.
Prior to joining DEO, Panuccio served as the General Counsel to Governor Rick Scott, where he managed the legal affairs and staff of the Governor’s office, helped direct and coordinate litigation and legal policy across state agencies, advised the Governor on over eighty judicial nominations, and served as the Governor’s chief ethics officer. Before joining the Scott Administration, Panuccio practiced law with the Washington D.C.-based law firm of Cooper & Kirk PLLC.
Panuccio received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
